The cot's slide-away side panel raises and lowers at the touch of a button, making it easy to reach inside and soothe a crying infant in the night. It also comes with 11 height adjustments that allow it to fit on the mattress of almost any size bed and it comes with adjustable feet that fold down to ensure it is at the right height.

The cot is cushioned and has mesh sides that allow for more ventilation, and its mattress is made of high-density, foam for extra protection. It is also wipeable, so you can keep the cot clean. It is fitted with a mattress sheet that can be used for the crib.

The Roomie Glide, unlike some other bedside cot crib cribs is compatible with all beds including divans. This is due to the straps and clips that connect to it. It can also be used as a standalone crib if it is not attached to the bed. It's packed with features that were specifically designed with the bonding between parents and babies in mind.

One thing to bear in mind is that while this crib is perfect for infants, it will not last long after your child is six months old, so you will require a bigger cot. But, in general Roanna found that the Joie Roomie Glide was a very good purchase and she was particularly impressed by its sleek design.

The Roomie Glide is available to purchase from John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna thought was a reasonable price for a cot with these innovative features. She also liked the way it was positioned in the bedroom, and believed that its grey colour will work well in modern homes. She did mention that it's not an ideal idea to rock a baby when it's younger as it can cause an unhealthy sleep pattern that can be difficult to overcome later.

The Tutti Bambini CoZee

The Tutti Bambini CoZee is an award-winning bedside rocking Crib crib designed with a safe night's sleep in mind. It has a drop side rail that can be easily lowered to feed your baby at night without having to wake your child or get them out of bed - it's ideal for mothers who are breastfeeding! It's also lightweight and easy to move around during naps or for travel.

It's made of soft material and has breathable mesh sides to promote airflow. It is available in charcoal or oak and various melange fabrics that can be incorporated with all styles of decor. Anna found it to be sturdy and secure when affixed to her bed with the legs securely clicking into the bed and the zips secured to ensure safety for babies. It took Anna about 10 minutes to put together and didn't require any tools. There are clear instructions along with a video and customer service number should you experience any issues.

Alongside the usual features you'd expect from a bedside crib such as the ability to be connected to your existing bed using a stay-in-place connection system and six height levels The CoZee also comes with an additional incline option that can be used to alleviate reflux or congestion in infants. It's also machine-washable, a essential feature for all the dribbles and vomit that come with having a newborn!

If you want to keep your baby close to you during the first six months as they're beginning to learn to sleep independently, the CoZee is a great option because it can be used as a stand-alone cot, changing table or toddler bed. It can be turned into a sofa bed with the addition of an extension pack. While it isn't able to feed your baby, or magically put them to sleep it will rock them and send them off!

The Chicco Next2Me Magic

This is one of Chicco’s more expensive alternatives. However, it comes with a lot of excellent features. It's designed to function as a side sleeper or a standalone crib, and is suitable from birth up to six months. It's easy to open and close the side panel using the new mechanism. It's also more flexible than the previous model, with 11 different height settings as well as legs that retract to fit underneath any bed.

Our testers loved the ease of access the side panel provides that can be moved up and down by pressing a button. This was especially helpful in the evening when feeding time was over, since they could reach in and pick their baby up without waking them up.

The side panel can be removed on its own, but it's not recommended since it increases the risk of your baby falling out of the cot. The patented safety locking system makes sure that the side panel will only remain in place if it's connected correctly to the mattress of the parent. This feature is great for peace of mind if you are breastfeeding and need frequent nighttime feeds.

The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to work with any bed that includes divan bases as well as beds with drawers due to the legs that can be telescopic. The dual-view mesh side panels and airflow mattress that is hypoallergenic and breathable maximize airflow and keep your baby cool and comfortable. The gentle incline helps alleviate colic and reflux. The zip-down side lets you to feed your baby or comfort them during the night.

The cot conversion kit is also well-designed with clear instructions. It comes with everything you need. It took us about an hour to complete and was fairly straightforward. The only drawback to the instructions was that certain images did not have captions. This made it difficult for us to follow the instructions. Overall, the process was simple and the materials used were of high quality.

In the co-sleeping mode, we found the Shnuggle Air to be an excellent choice for breastfeeding mums and women who have had a C-section, as it allows them to easily reach out to their newborn to feed and comfort them without having to leave their bed. It's also great for mothers who wish to avoid the stress of getting into and out of a traditional cot, or placing their child down for a nap.

The gliding motion was discovered to be extremely helpful in lulling babies to sleep following feedings during the midday or at night. The drop-down side can also be easily accessible to feed or soothe babies during the middle of the night, which was a real benefit for our exhausted test mums. While it doesn't rock or have additional features like a sound system the Joie Roomie Glide's sleek design and functionality are a welcome addition to our top crib reviews for bed.
