Each glyph increases the value of a stat by a specific amount. This is shown on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the highest value that the glyph can improve a stat by and not the amount it actually increases it by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier as well as the quality of the product you are enchanting.

The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items can't be repaired or replaced without dismantling the equipment in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use but it hasn't been incorporated to gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel.
